The lands of the Aerial Alliance for a long time were constantly being warred over, the dragons in the lands fought for more territory, and it wasn’t called Aerial Alliance, it was called ‘The Dragonflights’ and there was no alliance between the dragons. It had been chaos for centuries, no one wanted to go there or settle near there on account of all the fire and general chaos. There were rumours about all the dragons there: the ferocity of the red dragons, the stubbornness and skill of the black drakes, the speed and guerrilla tactics of the green wyverns, the strength of the blue serpents and the precision of the yellow dragons.
The Gryphons were inferior to the dragons back then, either seen as food or slaves and were always closely watched by their masters and rebellions were squashed. Sometimes literally. It was common for some of the other dragon races to steal gryphons from one of the other flights in an effort to win.
Each of the flights fought each other, scattered bodies across their lands as a warning to the others. They all had wanted to be the best dragons in the world and each leader had their own plans for what they had planned once they defeated the others though no one knew what that plan was. There were speculations, sure, like world domination was a common theory, there were also a few theories on them just doing it to show off to each other and a small number believed that they wanted to reach god-hood.
But, ninety years ago...the lands grew quiet, and soon more rumours floated out from the depths of the territory, that all the dragons and the gryphons had unified under one banner after banishing the leaders and their loyal followers. Who could have possibly had the strength and wisdom necessary to unify so many, perhaps maybe it was this King of the Dragons and Eternal Queen of the Gryphons? Whoever they are - along with the King’s, Queen, the Queen of the Dragons - are extremely powerful individuals, who know when to take risks and when not too, along with showing compassion, acceptance, kindness, mercy and when the time calls for it, cruelty. They would be dangerous enemies or powerful allies.
The three have been ruling over their combined territory with their advisors for ninety years, re-building themselves from the ashes of the past and recently they have sent diplomats out of their borders to talk peace with the humanoid races they share the planet with.
